Today marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the remarkable journey of Amb. Udoh on the occasion of his birthday. Born on April 22, 1969, at Lagos Island Maternity, Amb. Udoh has traversed a path defined by unwavering determination, relentless pursuit of excellence, and a deep commitment to service.
From humble beginnings as the child of a pioneering Nigerian Police officer and a dedicated teacher mother, Amb. Udoh’s early years were shaped by the values of integrity, discipline, and resilience instilled in him by his parents. His educational odyssey took him through formative experiences at Ekpeyak Primary School Ikot Ikono, Lutheran High School, Obot Idim, and Etinan Institute, all in Akwa Ibom State.
Undeterred by challenges, Amb. Udoh embarked on a journey of higher learning, enrolling at the University of Calabar with a focus on Marketing. However, driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a passion for business, he transitioned to the realm of hospitality and hotel operations, where he honed his skills and expertise.
Fuelled by a deep-rooted fascination with human behavior and organizational dynamics, Mr. Usen pursued further studies at the University of Uyo, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and later a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. It was during this time that he demonstrated his visionary leadership by founding Psychology Pathfinders at the University of Uyo, a pioneering initiative dedicated to promoting and advocating for mental health awareness.
Amb. Udoh’s contributions to the tourism and hospitality industry are unparalleled, as evidenced by his role as the Pioneer Chairman of the Akwa Ibom Tourism and Hospitality Practitioners Association (AKTHOPA) and the Federation of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria. His strategic acumen and communication prowess have been instrumental in shaping the narrative of Nigeria’s tourism landscape.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Amb. Usen Udoh is a devoted Christian, a loving husband to his wife, and a nurturing father to four wonderful children. His global perspective, cultivated through extensive travel and engagement, has enriched his understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives, making him a true citizen of the world.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Tourism Development Services Ltd., Amb. Udoh continues to embody the spirit of innovation, resilience, and service excellence. His presence on various organizational boards underscores his commitment to driving positive change and fostering sustainable development.
Amb. Udoh is currently the Secretary Board of Trustee of the Braced Tourism Promotion and Development Initiative.
