Campaign Strategic Communications Boss Commends Pastor Umo Eno Over Appointment of New SSG.

Chairman, Strategic Communications Sub-Committee of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno Campaign Organization and pioneer chairman of Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Usen Udoh has commended Governor Umo Bassey Eno for the appointing one of their own, Prince Enobong Uwa, a seasoned administrator and strategist as
Secretary to State Government (SSG).

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the swearing in of the newly appointed SSG at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo on Wednesday, Mr. Udoh, the pioneer chairman of Akwa Ibom State Tourism and Hospitality Practitioners’ Association, described Prince Enobong Uwah as a great leader that is willing to provide purposeful leadership, direction and motivation for the advancement of his people.

According to Mr. Udoh, the people of Ward 6, in Uyo Local Government Area and the entire Offot Ukwa Clan of Akwa Ibom State are very grateful to His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for appointing their illustrious son as SSG to steer the ship of State, adding that: “Together, we can accomplish the mission of taking Akwa-Ibom to enviable heights and solve our problems by improving on what successive administrations in the state have done.

“The qualities of effective leadership include courage, strength, ability to communicate effectively, knowledge, good sense of judgment, integrity, and interpersonal skills, with a clear understanding of public administration and management skills, having the political will to interpret and implement the vision of governor as enshrined by the mantra of the new administration.

“Leadership is not inborn, just as it is not also related to a particular personality type. Leadership skills can be learned, provided the person involved is sufficiently motivated to make changes within himself/herself.

“People are generally promoted based on their past job performance. While political power is a necessary component of leadership, power also implies that a person can make things happen while authority comes with a position which enables the leader to delegate people to perform certain duties.

“Therefore a true leader uses power to achieve his goals marshalling the resources of others, even though no official authority has been bestowed on the person. Power is mostly based on the ability to communicate and persuade others to join the effort to reach a significant goal.

“I can boldly say that the newly appointed SSG, Prince Enobong Uwah belongs to the class of contemporary leaders who possess self-awareness, credibility, focusing on relationship-building, with a bias for action, exhibiting humility and empowering others, while staying authentic, presenting themselves as constant and consistent characters of reference and becoming role models to the younger generation”, Mr. Udoh said.
